Mavic Fury MTB Shoes cleat bolt size?

I purchased Mavic Fury MTB shoes online and when I try to attach my pedal cleats to them the bolts that come with the pedals are way too big (thick) for the screw holes on the bottom of the shoes? This is true for both my Shimano pedal cleat bolts and also my Time pedal cleat bolts. Any suggestions? I thought all MTB pedal cleat bolts would be the same size but for some reason the Mavic's shoes have way smaller holes than my Bontrager and Shimano MTB shoes have?

The threads probably still have the "bolt" in there that protects the threads. Try sticking a 2.5mm Allen wrench in there first and turning counter clock wise. Once you take that out you can use your normal cleat bolt cause they are normal sized.
