Gee, another somebody from across the pond with a look into the
furure...good for you and enjoy riding. I will just continue to help
those with old bikes, ride them and not wallow in the new and amazing
of bicycles.

I use Delta brakes BTW, and the 'republic' is the 'People's republic of
Boulder'. I guess if you had ever been here, you would understand.

I'm glad you appreciate my free advice and I will refrain from callimg
YOU any names, in English or French.

This horse is pretty dead, except for the french guy, I guess, sandy or
something.
Ksyriums come on so many bikes outta the box, that they are everywhere
here and we do quite a brisk biz keeping them true and wrking. Most of
the shops that sell 'em on new bikes don't know how to work on 'em.

It's akin to show sizes that only come in whole, not 1/2 sizes. Sure a
size 10.5 guy can 'fit' a 10 or 11, but it's not perfect. What amazes
me as the frame makers that make 1cm sizes, in compact.

Not a 'problem' in my eyes. I have been in megashops that try to be
everything to everybody. Now owning one, I refuse to have that kind of
shop. We are the 'Evan the tailor' instead of Men's warehouse. We are
Hoshi motors, fixing Honda only instead of the place that fixies
everything. It is a conscious decision, something that works here in
the 'republic'(that's Boulder, for the french dude), and I wouldn't
have it anyother way. This might be blastfeme(sp?), but after flying
fighter's in the USN for 20 years, this is a lifestyle, not a place to
make money, for me.

So I can kinda do what I want...I admit, I am a lucky guy. As in the
french guys eyes, a snob...I kinda like 'ludite' or 'curmudgeaon'
myself.

Sounds like the genius fit guru at my LBS. He doesn't bother to stock
half sizes in $250 cycling shoes even though they are available.
instead, he insisted that I should buy a size 44 and install a thick
aftermarket insole to help take up the slop, even though I've worn a
size 43.5 in similar shoes for the last 20 years.

Just had a gent that finally is going to let us build him a set of
wheels to replace his 'Kry-siriums'. He has had many spokes break, even
had a shop replace all the spokes in the front(same rim tho-don get
that), and that followed by a....broken spoke.

He has spent close to a thousand bucks on these to try to keep them
working but....

does your customer have the ones with the fatty aluminum spokes? i've
seen many people limping home or stuck at the side of the road with
those spokes broken. ksyriums with the stainless spokes don't seem to
have the same reliability problems, but they're not "race light".
