MBA students collecting data for market research project

We are a group of Rotman MBA students doing a primary marketing
research on tri-athletes, runners, and cyclists.

We appreciate your time filling out this survey and we would like to
thank you for your time by offering prizes to the people who refer the
most additional runners and cyclists to our survey.

1st prize is $50 gift certificate for AMAZON.
2nd prize is the latest copy of the Rotman Business Magazine(a $25
value!)
3rd prize is the latest copy of the Rotman Business Magazine(a $25
value!)

At the end of this survey you will be asked to paste in your email
address and the email address of the person who forwarded our link to
you. THIS IS COMPLETELY OPTIONAL. We respect your privacy and be
assured we will not share your responses. We are looking at the
responses in aggregate and are only using the email address data to
tally the referral totals and determine and contact the winners.

Kindly forward the link to our survey to everyone you know :) Thanks
in advance!

There are 25 questions in total - Here we go!

Looking at the survey you appear to be under the impression that
cycling is some sort of sporting activity.

It is for some, but not for many.

The thought of winning a business magazine is enough to put me off!

I was just wondering whether I preferred the 2nd prize or the 3rd prize :)

I'm not sure how much I would appreciate a dollar value prize! Isn't the
first rule of marketing to know your market?

But you can't win the prize by filling in the questionaire, the prize
goes to the best spammer; who gets the most other people to fill this in.
Hence I filled it in, but left out both the spammers and my own email
addresses at the end.

Presumably that is something the students will learn as part of
their MBA.

Dumbing down anyone?

it's little wonder the US economy is in such deep doo-doo.

What a **** survey!!!!!!!

6 - Do you participate in any timed events? No?

7 - What do you do with the results of these timed events? I just said
that I don't do any, but that isn't an option and it's a "must tick one"
answer!

I don't earn any dollars at all, but I do spend a few dollars on cycling
stuff. I spend far more pounds though.

Also, there are two big options missing about why I cycle - commuting
and fun. I don't give a stuff about performance or fitness or eating
lots of sand - I just enjoy it!

Yup - I think this bunch of prospective marketing people have failed at
the first hurdle - understanding the market.

I think the best question is the one that says "What do you own
(please tick all)", then as "other", "please specify". So that will
be a complete inventory of every one of my possessions, presumably?

Also, you're only allowed to cycle a maximum of seven times a week,
and "to get where I want to go" is not an expected reason for cycling
(or indeed swimming or running).
