McEwan's Knee injury, end of career?

If his knee is causing problems, why ride hard in the TT? His career is pretty much over right?

I think he has some business interests in Queensland, property or something like that, the transition to r
etirement should be pretty easy for him.
 
Maybe he likes cycling, is competitive, and wants to go out on his own terms and not because of an injury?

Good point and he deserves this as much as anyone, he's one of the best sprinters in of his generation. I'm just wondering if he's hanging around to long?
 
I'm hoping he gets one big last win (like Paris-Tours) and can then retire on top. Given how good a sprinter he is, he does deserve that.
