It's been pretty rainy lately and more to come. TWC calls for impending
rain today even a thunder boomer. But at noon the sky is bright enough if
cloudy.
What to do? Grab a quickie.
No off-road trail rides as the ground is thoroughly sodden. I start by
toodling along the MUP's. They are dry enough. The emerald green of foliage
after a good rain and before more of the same is amazing.
I meander through old residential streets. These are streets and building
from the 50's maybe some earlier. The sidewalks and curbs show their age but
it isn't run down - merely gracefully aged. They show the wear of time.
Genteel in a word.
I pass a school. It's pleasing to see a long bike rack with many bikes. The
idea that some schools try to ban bikes is appalling.
Although I know the city very well I find new streets I've never ridden.
Nothing special in them just paths not taken before.
A two hour ride. Lackadaisical but enjoyable none the less.
