Meindl Boot Fixing?

I have got some 2nd hand, I think pair of Borneo's Nubuk leather upper. However on one boot
basically the lower four metal ringlet thingys have gone a bit rusty, they still do there job of
holding a lace but I was wondering if you could get them replaced at a specialist, and when getting
wet will no doubt further deterioate, anything I can coat them in maybe?

Also regarding cleaning and getting the leather back to its glory do you have to use meindl products
or will any nubuk products be okay?

Is there a boot cleaning F.A.Q anywhere if this has been done to death before?

I got a metal ringlet replaced at my local Timpsons. It was a cheapish pair of fabric Reebok boots,
repaired two years ago and still going strong.

Hi Peter

Try these guys http://www.lsr.gb.com/home.htm They appear very professional but they do check things
like the waterproof layer which may come in handy as your boots are second hand.

I haven't tried them myself though I do know about them because of a recommendation by somebody else

Hope this helps

Just realised after looking through the archives on Google that there is another Fran posting in
this group so to avoid confusion I have changed my posting name slightly

I used this company to resole and service my Meindl Nepal Pro. Used their postal service and it was
prompt, with good work on the new soles and waterproofing. Worth using.

About to have their first serious outing in The Lakes this week.

Hiya!! Pleased to meet you too! I thought I would be quite safe using my nickname as a handle in the
group, I didn't realise there were quite so many of us about! lol

I'm Fran as in Francesca. I live in North London but I'm moving up to Newark in a couple of months

I can't say I know Rhondda as I have never been to Wales, apart from a long weekend as a school
trip, unfortunately, though not for the lack of trying. My partner has family living in Wales, near
the Brecons, so maybe this year we'll finally make plans for a visit. From what I can remember of my
school trip the walking is fantastic there
