I've been searching for a road bike for a while and so far the best i have found, for the money, are the Mercier Galaxy and Galaxy AL. I intend to purchase them from bikesdirect.com. Simply assuming, i believe the Galaxy AL will be lighter for it sports a corbon fork mounted on an aluminum frame rather than the Galaxy's steel fork and frame. If anyone has figures on the weight of both these bikes that information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

the last I heard and can remember is that the steel job is 21 pounds, and the aluminum is about 20.5 pounds. Not sure if those numbers are correct, but I recall someone saying that the difference between the two was only 1/2 a pound, so really not that much considering their equipped the same thus the difference would be a steel frame and fork vs a aluminum frame and carbon fiber fork. But maybe my figures are wrong, because they don't seem to fit.
