Check my previous post and why if you are going to generate revenues, why not spend it on levies rather than football or casinos....Choices...once again poor choices...

Well, which is it? You say the people there are poor, downtrodden yet their aveage income doesn't reflect that nor do their purchasing power i.e. buying high priced football tickets... Secondly, of course Virginia and Florida will have a larger GSP. Their populations are also much larger. Florida's population is 18 million, VA is 8 million, LA is 4 million.

........I know math isn't your strong point.

And if you take 326b divide by 7m (pop of VA) and then divide 157b by 4m
(pop of La) you'll see that nett income per person in La is far lower than the tripe you posted earlier.

Not that Zappers #'s are right (although they may be), but I what you are talking about here is GSP per capita. Individual avg. income is not the same thing. For example government workers, lawyers ;) , and welfare recipients receive income even though they produce nothing. There should be at least a weak correlation between GSP per capita and avg. income (as you already stated it is a measure of reletive wealth), but perhaps not. Don't think that changes the pointlessness of the argument, but it can help explain the large discrepancy between the two viewpoints.

well according to your goverment stats, 7m is the number.

still doesn't negate the fact that income per head in your state is higher than La.
In addition your state is rated in the 2nd tier of prosperous states in the Union
whereas La is in the 3rd tier (with Mississippi)

which begs the question as to how you could possibly derive the 35k per head income in Va ?
stick with counting the deuces on the card table.

Wilmar, I could argue the case on several issues but given my opponents inability to grasp even basic arithematic, I think we ought to keep this as simple as possible.

But even getting away from the math - the US Gov statistics lists La as being in the third tier of prosperous states in the Union.
Virginia is in the second tier.

GSP or Gross Domestic Product is regarded as the most accurate measure of growth when comparing relative wealth of nations (in this case states).

Perhaps the GDP would be higher if individuals were productive instead of going to football games..

ENERGY CONSUMPTION PER PERSON RANKINGS BY STATE

    VA = 30TH
    FL = 44TH
    LA =3RD

For people who are so poor they sure use a lot of energy....

Another stat for you "ARCHIMEDES". Seems VA has a bigger deficit than LA perhaps they could have gone deeper in debt to fortify those levies....Since Blanko was so on top of things...

FY 2005 STATE Deficit Projection :
    Florida 0 0% (REPUBLICAN GOV)
    Louisiana 500m 8% (DEM GOV)
    Virginia 927m 8% (DEM GOV)

For the record : Personal Incomes (in Millions) for the first two quarters in 2005 :

    Q1 Q2

    Virginia 283,066 286,983
    Louisiana 128,059 130,147
    Mississippi 73,585 74,815

Whichever way you cut it (based on GSP or Personal Incomes) Virginia is
over twice as wealthy as La and is wealthier than the aggregate of La and Mi.

The fact that Va has a far higher population accentuates the huge gap between wealthy (relatively) regions like Va compared to poor regions like
    La.

Hey genius...think again. what you have posted is the sum of personal incomes..divided by a higher number produces a lower AVERAGE salary "ARCHIMEDES"

Second, have you heard of Hurrican HUGO? hit SC and guess what...they are listed in the LOWEST QUINTLE of your reference...one tier below LA!!!! It didn't slow down federal responses....Perhaps you and wurmy can put your heads together and come up with another conspiracy.... :p

    283 divided by 7 = 40

    128 divided by 4 = 32.

    40 is greater than 32.

    Va's wealthier.

Not by so much to make a huge difference and secondly, Perhaps if LA sold their football team and stopped using so much electricity they would be on an equal playing field.

But seriously, the response to LA had absolutely nothing to do with incomes or stadiums. Just as with HUGO which slammed into a "poorer" state "SC" and it didn't have jack to do with the response...

Differential of 8k between a population of 4,000,000 compared to a population
of 7-8 million, per person, is substantial.

In fact, it's so substantial that La is in the 3rd tier of states in the Union while VA is in the 2nd tier.

“As Governor, her top priorities include: providing affordable, accessible healthcare, improving the state’s education system, and creating a strong and vibrant economy.”

Well I guess Blanko's bio is a load of ...how do you put it? Oh, yes...Tripe... Perhaps they should have elected Jeb Bush...

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered altitude
and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can
you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I
don't know where I am!" The man consulted his portable GPS and replied,
"You're in a hot air balloon approximately 30 feet above sea level. You
are 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09
    minutes west longitude.

" She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a
Republican.""I am," replied the man. "How did you guess?" "Well,"
answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct,
but I have no idea what to make of your information, and I'm still lost.
Frankly, you've not been much help to me." The man smiled and responded,

"You must be a Democrat." "I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you
know?" "Well" said the man, "You don't know where you are or where
you're going. You've risen to where you are due to a large quantity of
hot air. You've made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and
you expect ME to solve your problem. You're in EXACTLY the same position
you were in before we met, but somehow, now it's MY fault."

La's unemployment rate during 2005 averages at 5.5%

Va's unemployment rate during 2005 averages at 3.6%.

La's lower income per head, lower GSP rate, higher unemployment rate, forces
La in to the third tier of US States in terms of wealth generation.
