mid engine 2seater car to carry a bike

i have a mid-engine pontiac fiero. sofar i carried my bike in the passenger's seat. now my gf became active in cycling too, so i need to carry two bikes from now on. the question is how? i'm afraid if i tie them to the engine hood, it will be too hot for them. maybe i could use some rack behind the car, but it would cover my lights. roof-rack is a no go option, i have nowhere to attach it, plus the roof is too short anyway.

any opinions or ideas? shall i weld some special rack above enough the engine hood?

anyone has a similar car (bertone x1/9, toyota mr2, lamborghini, ferrari, porsche) with similar problems?

firstly i wish i had the problem of trying to attach my bikes to a ferrari but i'm a bit off owning that Enzo

i've seen a porsche with roof racks but really those cars aren't designed for that sort of stuff

perhaps you could learn to wear bad socks, sandals and a safety vest and then just buy folding bikes

Saris Bones rack. You can manipulate the angles it hits your car and the ends are padded to avoid scratches. Wouldn't do long trips with it, though...... http://www2.sarisproducts.com/start.htm
