"Parents in Glasgow are being warned that they will be fined if they
ignore "Keep Clear" markings outside schools.

A new pilot scheme launched as pupils return to school will see traffic
wardens enforcing the no stopping areas at some school gates."

"Driving children to school does not turn them into couch potatoes, UK
    research suggests.

Whether a child walked to school or was driven made no difference to
their overall activity levels, scientists at Derriford Hospital in
    Plymouth found.

The additional activity of the average six minute walk to and from
school each day made up only 2% of the children's total weekly activity.

The findings appear on the British Medical Journal website bmj.com."

But, but, but, grrrr. Where do you start?

If you only measure those who still walk, and who hence only walk
very short distances then it'll not be a large percentage of their
    total activity....

The article says the keep clear markings are only advisory so how are
the wardens going to enforce them? Why not have double yellows instead
    of keep clears?
