No. You just need to drill the rear of the fork crown with an 8mm bit.
Leave the front alone.

I hope not, I drilled mine out ages ago. No ill effects so far. I had
to remove so little metal I very much doubt it'll have an real effect.
It was only on the back time IIRC too.
