    I have a short leg that requires the cleat on one of my shoes to be built up by about 10mm. this requires a large sized cleat such as look which is what I am currently using. I have look pedals on most of my bikes but they are pain to tour with.
    Has anyone sucessfully modified a pedal so that the pedal is the part that is built up?? The idea of this is to allow me to use shoes that have recessed cleats such as speedplay frogs.

    I've never tried it, and I can't see an easy way of doing that either. Of course it's possible, but the only option I can see would involve some fairly complicated machining and metalworking.

    How about using a shorter crank on that side? Might not be the fix you're looking for, but this one is definitely easily doable.

    what about some barrel spacers and longer allen screws?

    Changing the diameter of the pedal stroke produces a different range of movement to using a spacer.

    The only pedal that I think will work is the Speedplay frogs. I have emailed them but no response as yet. I have a friend with a 1 meter flat bed CNC machine so making the parts isn't a problem. I just dont wont to reinvent the wheel if someone already has a solution.
