  1. Molasses Apple Crisp

    Yield: 1 - 6 x 10 x 2 inch baking dish

    6 cups sliced, [censored] cooking apples (4 large apples)
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    5 Tablespoons molasses
    3 Tablespoons butter or margarine
    3/4 cup sifted flour

    Start oven at 375 degrees. Grease a 6 x 10 x 2 inch baking dish. Pare and
    core apples. Slice about 1/8 inch thick. Mix together 1/4 cup sugar,
    nutmeg, salt, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Alternate apples and sugar
    mixture in prepared baking dish. Spoon 4 Tablespoons molasses over top.
    Mix together remaining 1/4 cup sugar, 1 Tablespoon molasses, 1/4 teaspoon
    cinnamon, butter or margarine, and flour to a crumb consistency. Sprinkle
    evenly over apples. Bake uncovered 50 minutes or until apples are done.
