Doesn't look like a day in yellow is worth 10,000 e, considering La
Boulangère's haul.

That doesn't look right. I understood from Mike Smith at Eurosport the
"Yellow jersey" alone was worth 5,000 euros per day. There must have also
been prize money for the "White Jersey" which he held for 12 (?) Days.

Truly a brilliant team - in an event surrounded by tens of millions of dollars
they maintained their purity of sport.

Indeed, as my chronicles showed, they chose to enjoy/linger on the route!

In 2003, "Daily prize for holder of yellow jersey 350 €" (Not a lot!)

I couldn't find the detailed prize list this year, but I believe the
overall total went up a few percent.

Stage wins, on the other hand, started at 7620€ and dropped to 127€ for
25th place (again, in 2003).

Most agressive rider was 2000€ per day!
