Mongoose Tech 4 - Rear Compatible with disc brakes?

I am not familiar with your particular frame but if it is compatible there will be two mounting lugs towards the end of the left hand side rear fork. These are for mounting the brake assembly and are also found on front forks for the same reason.

I don't know of any adaptors out there, but that doesn't mean there aren't any I guess.

Yes, there is a spot to mount the thing that stops the disc, but I don't know if my rim or hubs are compatible.

I HAVE THE SAME BIKE. IT DOES HAVE REAR DISC BRAKE CAPABILITIES, BUT IT'S NOT WORTH THE UPGRADE. THE FRONT PROMAX DISC BRAKES ARE CHEAP. I CHANGED THEM TO V-BRAKES AND GOT BETTER STOPPING POWER. YOU WOULD HAVE TO BUY BETTER DISC BRAKES IF YOU WANT THEM TO WORK GOOD. YOU WOULD ALSO NEED TO BUY A NEW REAR WHEEL WITH DISC HUB CAPABILITIES. IN THE LONG RUN YOU WILL BE PAYING MORE MONEY THAN YOU WANT TO FOR EVERTHING YOU NEED TO HAVE DISC BRAKES. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND PUT V-BRAKES ON THE FRONT. I JUST SAVED YOU A FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS.
