To hear the HRS blog cretins tell it ... they took the BROL server
down. I'd put nothing past these juveniles, but ask yourself ... no
matter how vast their ego how miniscule their intelligence, would even
these morons be so stupid as to go public and announce their criminal
behavior and risk suffering the consequences of their actions? As
usual, this is just more ******** from those who do it best. In the
IHPVA forum, herr is what Bryan Ball had to say in this regard ...
BentRider Server Issue Update:
Hello all!
Been a rough few days around here. To backtrack and explain what
happened at BentRider...
Our server host decided to move us to a new server without warning.
This was supposed to have happened three months ago. They
"decommissioned" our server and changed the DNS to a different one
which just happened to be the one we were using up until May of 2004.
So that's why the data all reverted back to that date. We didn't
have the back-ups that we would normally have because we were on
dial-up and were paying the server host to back-up our data for us.
Well they did... But they backed it all up on the same server they
"decommissioned". So we thought that everything from June of 2005
(newest data on our hard drives) until now was lost and that the
message board may have been lost for good. Luckily after several
calls we finally got the head of Customer Service for the company.
He admitted that they made a major error and got the techy to find
our data. Turns out that "decommissioned" means no longer rented by
our host and was back in the hands of whoever owned the physical
location of our server. We had no idea that we had been farmed out
to someone else.
Anyway... They regained access to the server and the data is all
still there. Due to our lack of a broadband connection until early
next month and our lack of expertise in working with databases, we've
had to hire a pro to help restore the site. That probably won't be
complete until Tuesday. BUT... EVERYTHING SURVIVED so no message
board accounts or posts will be lost.
