What was the name of the movie that had a kid in it as he grew up, he dreamed of one day being a professional rider... He may have been italian or something, he spoke with an accent... I think the movie was filmed in the early to mid 80's... Anyone?

You're probably thinking of "Breaking Away". Wonderful movie. Came out in 1979. Local cyclist in a small town (townies aka "cutters"), lives, eats, and breathes cycling and everything else Italian, comes of age in a race against college kids. Based on Dave Blaze, and his experiences at Indiana University and the Little 500.

it won an academy award for writing original screenplay for steve tesich, and was nominated for 5 others inc best pic and director.

it is an awesome movie.....especially the eeny food scene
