i student of mine (who plays football) told me that he uses tiger balm after training. says it gives a really cool feeling for about 30-45 min after it is applied. and it works even better if it is massged into the skin. he explained it helps expand the blood vessels under the skin and helps remove metabolic wastes from the the muscles underneath. sounds kinda far fetched to me. but my curiosity got the better of me and i went out and got some CVS brand Musclerub and he was right as far as the cool feeling on my legs. but is his rationale correct? can it speed recovery?
