Muscle tightness in shins

    When I run my muscles around my shins get so tight I can't
    feel my feet. I could run for a lot longer but my muscles
    get so tight I can't move my legs anymore. I strectch
    before.. Any help please.

    You may have to buy new shoes as often as every couple
    months. Dont run on hard surfaces such as cement and
    asphalt.
     
  3. Stop running and go to see a sports medic - this could be
    compartment syndrome, and left unchecked can turn into a
    real problem. Real problem....

    Thanks for all of your advice. I seek the advice of a
    physical therapist. After looking at my legs and the size of
    the muscle around the shin area he advised me of the
    following.

    1. Before running deep muscle massages with lots of
    stretches.

    2. After running stretches, deep muscle massage,
    followed by ice.

    Everything has been great i have worked through it. Getting
    ready for a 5K on the 24th.
