Music for the wicked - Hard Rock/Metal

I love listening to:

Pantera
Prodigy
Type O Negative
Pist On
Life of Agony
Marilyn Manson

Disturbed-Enemy
Ministry-Bad Blood
Deep Purple-Perfect Strangers
Black Sabbath-Black Sabbath
WASP-Headless Children
Manson-Beatiful People
Union Underground-Mr. Deadmon
Coal Chamber-Get out of my rowboat
Cloud Connected-In flames
Pantera-Cemetary Gates
Pretty much anything by Metallica, AC DC, Ozzy, Godsmack, Disturbed

Prodigy initially was/is dance/techno music. Now, they have fused those music qualitys into hard-rock.... I like them.

AC-DC
Van-Halen
some Radiohead
how about Romstein - I think thats how you spell it, you know the German group :)
Zepplin
Front 242(there industrial techno/ rock.. for the most part)
Gravity Kills

Gotta look into some Iron Madian... as a friend highly recommends it

Some other ideas...

Kataklysm - Shadows and Dust
King Diamond - Abigail
Megadeth - Peace Sells
Vicious Rumors - s/t
Laaz Rockit - Annihilation Principle
Artillery - Terror Squad
Hexenhaus - Dejavoodoo
Helstar - Remnants of War

I don't listen to most of the stuff you guys list. I like the following:

Iced Earth
Blind Guardian
Demons & Wizards
Tad Morose
Brainstorm
Therion
Opeth
Sonata Arctica
After Forever
Kamelot
Epica
Pyramaze
Savatage
Evergrey
Fates Warning
Nightwish
Orphaned Land
Symphony X
Zero Hour
The Lord Weird Slough Feg
While Heaven Wept
Within Temptation

Fates Warning -- nice! My fave: Awaken the Guardian

What did you think of the recent Zero Hour? I thought it was a tad weak...

New Symph X this year...large shoes to fill coming after 'the Odyssey' but I hope they keep that heavier edge.

Nice list!

Heh. I'm a new FW fan. In other words, I think APSoG is their best album. I'm guessing that you do not.

Yeah. I was a bit disappointed with the new Zero Hour album. The first one was so damn strong. The new one isn't bad, but just not quite as good as the first one.

Yeah, The Odyssey is a masterpiece. I didn't know they had a new one coming out this year. That's definately good news.

BTW, if you're into that type of music, you should check out ProgPower USA

I have a few buddies who will be attending Prog Power. I guess, being from Victoria, BC, Canada, it is a big expense to make the trip.

I think this year is the year, though; my fave band Nevermore is rumoured to be getting a 3 hour set. That would be incredible and almost worth it.

But when it comes down to racing stateside vs. Prog Power I'm going to choose racing.

Now, Wacken, that's another story.

oh yeah, not a Ray Alder fan. Also am a hugely biased fan of John Arch so Ray could do no right! Actually, I'm kidding. I like No Exit quite a bit (esp. Shades of Heavenly Death) but they lost me a bit after that. I like my prog 'dinosaur,' as in King Crimson, Yes, Gentle Giant, Genesis....

BTW...lots of good metal discussion on the braveboard. www.bravewords.com

These are mid 80's thrash (Artist/CD-LP Title) that still pack a whallop:

Exodus -- Bonded by Blood
Celtic Frost -- Morbid Tales/To Megatherion
Sacrifice -- Torment in Fire
Necrophagia -- Season of the Dead
Destruction -- Sentence of Death/Infernal Overkill
