I've been looking to replace the crappy RS Jetts on my 2001
Kona & had been looking at replacing them with MX Comp
ETAs[*] & I mentioned this in my LBS last night when hunting
for cone spanners. Their response was to save my pennies &
just get the plain MX Comps as they'd had a lot of problems
and returns down to the ETA bits.
Since they're pretty good and were recomending forks
40UKP cheaper I'm tempted to save the money and
follow their advice.
However, a bit of googling last night didn't turn up
too many bad reports last night & great big bundles
of praise.
Has anybody here got any advice or opinions to
offer? Or even suggestion of other forks to look at
in a similar price bracket?
[*] did have a slight concern about replacing 65mm travel
forks with something longer. Google, Marzocchi's pages & a
tape measure suggest the distance between bottom headset
race and axle is comparible. (455mm on the Jett & 458/478mm
for 85/105mm MX Comp.) My maths suggests that should't make
for badness. Again if I'm wrong, please shout🙂
