Simple thing that works for me is a pair of decent quality workshop safety glasses (clear lens).
Purchased them a few years ago at Lee Valley Tools. Fit over my regular glasses, have side shields
and adjustable length arms. It never gets really cold here... maybe 25 F on a really bad morning, so
I don't know if crispy cold would make a significant difference.
This style of eye protection allows air flow so they are not a fogging nuisance and the side and top
shielding allows one to downhill at some screaming speeds without tears. I wear them daily, either
on darkish cloudy days or at night. The air flow feature makes me prefer them to goggles which fog
up immediately.
