Ok planning on swapping out my current Shimano Tiagra 9spd for the following Campy stuff.
Anything that I will need? Only thing I don't like about the campy built below is the crankset, I really do prefer the Dura-ace setup

Campagnolo Ergo/ Brake Replacement Cables
Mavic M10 Campagnolo Compatible Cassette
Campagnolo Chorus 2006 10sp Ultra Narrow Chain
Campagnolo Centaur 10sp Rear Derailleur
Campagnolo Centaur Front Derailleur
Campagnolo Chorus 10sp Carbon Ergo Levers
Campagnolo Chorus Bottom Bracket
Campagnolo Chorus alu crankset

Wait for the 07 gear then build full centaur. Has the Chour shifters and rear derailer, better crank/BB, cooler lighter brakes, and will probably cost you less.

No difference between 06 chorus Al crank and centuar, just the shininess.

Don't forget cables!

Then use a DA crankset. Unless you are beholden by team sponsorship, there is no reason why you can't mix the best of both--although there is the appeal of the ShimaNO philosophy.

I havn't found the price savings, mixing models, to be worth what you can buy a full group/same model for, but that's personal. I wouldn't scrimp on the rear derailleur. If you go bigger than a 13t cog, you will need the medium lenght cage rear derailleur. Your bottom bracket cups should match your frame threads, USA or Italian. Here are the reasons to buy the 34-50 compact crankset. More usable gear ratios because of less overlap between the big and little ring/cog combinations. A 12-25 cassette will give you the equivalent of a 29t cog and 39t ring and the 12t-50t only requires a few more cadence revs at 40mph. An 11t-23t cassette will give you a lower low and a higher high, than a 12t-25t x 39t-53t. The compact crankset requires a compact front derailleur. Oh, and the 2007 shift levers will have their throw reduced from 3cm to 1cm. They will be called "Quick Shift".

you get them with the ergos

If you are going to purchase now, wait for 2007 Centaur, as Phill stated.

Or just splurge on the 2007 Chorus, with QS and the yummy new crankset. Or wait for 2007 and pick up a 2006 carbon Chorus crankset.

Oh choices...

Can you use the DA crankset with Campy? Will a Campy chain work on the DA stuff....sorry might seem obvious to some of you but I don't know much about the compatibility of campy and shimano.

So will the 2007 Centaur have the carbon levers like Record and Chorus?
Anyone got pics of the 2007 groupset?

So am I understanding this right? with a 11t-23t cassette and a 34-50 compact crank I will lower gears to go faster than a normal double and higher gears to climb easier than a normal double? I thought a compact will take some speed of your top speed but in return you will climb easier.

Check this site out for some good Campy info

The cyclingnews article provides some information and a few photographs, here. The new Centaur ergopower levers will be carbon, but the crankset is now the highest alu only one in the Campagnolo line.

A DA crank will look out of place indeed. But if you prefer the DA style crank, I suggest using an FSA MegaExo crank. There are 4 models to choose from - Energy, Gossamer, SLK and the top of the line K Force. The megaExo cranks are similar to the integrated BB of DA as well as the semi solid chainrings.

Right. Go to analyticcycling.com and click on: Gears, Speed, Cadence. Enter any two of these parameters and it will calculate the third parameter for you. Oh, rumour has it that Campy will offer a 12-26 cassette for 2007, that will work with their short cage rear derailleur.
