The Outdoor Life Network will feature the Nature Valley Grand Prix this
weekend. This five-day National Racing Calendar stage race, which is
part of the Great River Energy Bicycle Festival, was held in cities
across Minnesota in June.

The fields at the Nature Valley Grand Prix were Who’s Whos of North
American and International cycling. The women’s race included World and
Olympic Champion Sarah Ulmer (Jazz Apple), Canadian National Champion
Alex Wrubleski (Team Biovail) and US National Champions Kristin
Armstrong (TEAm Lipton), Christine Thorburn (Webcor ? Platinum) and Tina
Pic (Colavita / Cooking Light). The men’s race included Philly winner
Greg Henderson, three-time Canadian National Champion Gord Fraser,
Australian National Champion Nathan O’Neil (all HealthNet p/b Maxxis),
Serbian National Champion Ivan Stevik (Toyota ? United) and former US
National Champions Dave McCook (Jelly Belly), Jonathan Page (Colavita)
and Frank Pipp (Target Training).

Following a prolog time trial in Saint Paul, the riders expected an easy
day in the rolling hills around Cannon Falls, but the packs were
shattered by strong crosswinds. Saturday’s road race in Mankato upped
the ante, with a finishing circuit that included a brutal 14% climb.
And the racing finished up at the Stillwater Criterium, widely
considered to be the most challenging criterium course in the country
thanks to the 24% Chilkoot Hill.

The program will air on OLN three times:

3:30 PM, Sunday, August 6
4:00 PM, Monday, August 7
5:30 PM, Tuesday, August 8

All times are Eastern Daylight Time. Check local listings.
