I've noticed that whenever my body realizes it is about to go for a bike ride, it decides it's time to "clear the pipes" so to speak. It doesn't matter if I've just done it a short while before or not. It is almost like Pavlov's dog.

    Ahh, the power of suggestion...BRB

Ok thats better. Ok time for another poll.
How many of you feel the need to "clear your pipes" while reading this post?

So in reference to the original post.
That nasty evil mean sneaky mother nature waits till im riding to inform me of her diabolical plans.
Theres nothing quite like the feeling of a high priority code brown alert in the first few miles of a double century. Ya feel me?

No, I can't really relate to that urge... but for us weight weenies what a great way to shave a few grams (hey, maybe pounds on a good day).

My wife, though, (and her mother a another data point) swears that every time she goes into a card shop (hallmark stores and the like) she has to make a #2.

Not that I have spit my lunch all over the place, I don't need to. This thread has given me the laugh of the day. Thanks!

Now, lets see how many different ways we can say "Clean The Pipes"
Drop the kids off at the pool.
Negotiate the release of the chocolate hostages.
    Anyone else?

It's the one thing that I really, really don't want to have to stop for during a ride.

And freedictionary.coms definition of pooping for more laughs
    Poop´ing
n.1.(Naut.) The act or shock of striking a vessel's stern by a following wave or vessel.
I don't think I get it on this one

And of course, one more for the road- a hillarious term for pooping
HAVANA OMELET=A case of diarrhea that creates a series of loud splashes in the toilet water.

almost on par with the Cleveland Steamer
    Cheers

Pinching a loaf? Sure, last big ride I did I had the urge but waited until after the first big climb. Nothing like being the first to dump a load in a FRESH porta-john. It was clean and freshly stocked with high quality paper.

I must admit, this is one thing I do think about before setting out for a Ride, however, it became clear to me why Accelerade makes one Pedal faster, it always seemed when I first started using the stuff that I'd get caught short (miles from anywhere of course) and it would certainly make me pedal faster in an emergency situation, it also made me realize that the dayglo cycling apparel we all wear in hope that we will be noticed by Motorists has a negative effect of making it a lot harder to hide in long grass or behind a bush at time when I realized I was just too far from a safe haven..
    :(

the moral of the story is to make sure not to add too much powder to the water
