Need a small favour

44cm,50cm,53cm - If 53cm is the centre-centre frame measurement, this is
a fairly small bike. How tall are you?

I don't know anything about the Peak brand. I think you should try a nearby bike shop and see what they suggest. Come back with their suggestions and
we can help you out.

If you aren't sure whether or not you will continue riding, then a cheap bike
will be better - maybe second-hand? If you love cycling, then the cheap bike
will be replaced quickly, so it's not a good investment. Of course it could always be sold to reduce the loss.

What sort of riding are you wanting to do? Bike paths? Off road? Road?

Where are you - perhaps someone can recommend a reputable bike shop?

Thanks for your quick reply,

I've been keen on entering the road bike scene for over the last month or so and am looking for a quality entry level bike to kick start my campaign, however i do not have a large budget as i am only 16. My budget is around $500-$700 AU, which doesn't leave many options open.

I am about the average size for a 16 year old, about 6 feet tall or so maybe a touch under.

I also called another store which said they had a Malvern Star road bike for around $450 AU and a Trek 1000 for $1000 and the Giant OCR3 at the same price, as i am not looking at spending $1000 AU on the bike alone it looks like its either the Malvern Star which i dont have specs on or the Peak R1000

Thanks in advanced for your help

My first road bike cost me $70 from a garage sale 10+ years ago. I still have it! The bike I started racing with cost me $100 second-hand from my Local Bike Shop (LBS).

For Malver Star specs, try here:

Also consider this bike:

Shimano Sora groupset, 30-day money back guarantee, some people have given their bikes good reviews on this forum/ng.
