Need advice on damaged front rim

My Cannondale SuperSix came with Mavic Ksyrium Equipe wheels. I was on a descent when my front tire blew out. I was successful in braking slowly on gravel to stop without crashing. My front rim ended up with some nasty gouges, practically all around the rim; but no gouges on the braking surface. Is there a way of removing the gouges or is the rim toast?

Thanks in advance

Depending on how deep they are, a light touch up to the top of the bead area will smooth the worst of it out.

I had the same thing happen to an Aksium rim. Rolled maybe a hundred yards after a high speed blow out. I was on pavement and still managed to gouge up both beads. No big deal. Light strokes and finish up with a hone stone. That rim is still in service.
