Need encouragement

    I started following E-diets low carb diet one week ago. I have heard
    all these people talk about losing 5-10 pounds the first week. Well, I
    have been absolutely careful....eating below 20grams of carbs a day,
    lots of meat, quit caffeene and have been drinking 64 ounces of water a
    day and today was my weigh-in...only 3 pounds down. I guess I was just
    expecting more. This diet is very hard on me because I love sweets,
    pastas and breads, so to cut that down to 20 grams has been torture and
    I know I have to keep going because my goal weight is 50 pounds less
    than where I am now....please, some words of wisdom and encouragement
    here!:) Thanks
