Hello guys, I am new to cycling and I am not sure if this is the right place to post about it.
I am planning on converting my downtube shifters (http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/2300/m9is.jpg) with brake+shifter campagnolo levers I have lying around (http://thumbs1.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/m8iNWnSqDKIQG_EuI9U2Nkw.jpg). The problem is that the downtube on my bike does not have the little shifter bosses (http://waterfordbikes.com/w/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/DowntubeShiftStudPhoto201009.jpg) on which the cable stop should be attached so I am not sure what to do. Can I use normal cable stop like this ones? (http://sheldonbrown.com/harris/images/CAH55.jpg)
Also the levers are 3x8 speed ones, can I use them with a 6 cog cassette or do I need to buy an 8 speed and widen the frame for it?
Thanks!
