Can anyone tell me if 8 speed Dura Ace hubs are compatible with 9 or 10 speed drivetrains without any problems? Someone told me that they are compatible with any modifications.

Yeah, as long as it's hyperglide. A 10 speed casette comes with a thin spacer that goes on before the casette.

Even if the freehub body is HyperGlide, it may have the external threads for a Uniglide cassette. If it does, it will still work for 9/10-speed cassettes, but you will not be able to start with an 11T cog.

Why not? There were compact and non compact 8 speed HG hub bodies, the ones that would have also been threaded for UG. Compact works as is with an 11 tooth small cog casette, and the non compact requires a 1 mm spacer on the hub before the casette.
