Need new Shoes

Finally decided its time for new mtb shoes after i have put a beating on my answer impacts for 4 years. There are not many reviews on them and any of the LBS have limited options in store so I am forced to order online.

I need a decent competition level shoe, heres my list so far
shimano m-225- dont know how i would like the snowboard type locking system but they do have carbon bottoms

pearl izumi-flow - not sure if the twisting mechanism to lock you in is a gimmic but it does seem easy to tighten...which sounds good to me.

also curious as to fit, and comfort but its hard to really tell until their broken in

any opinions?

The big issue with shoes is always fit

I wanted to buy some Pearl Izumi road shoes but my feet just didn't fit in them and i ended up with Sidis

Your feet may like shimano shoes or specialized or whatever but the only way to find out is to try them.

Best bet is to make a trip to a bigger store and try some different brands
