Well my wife and I would like to start bike riding to get in shape and maybe lose some weight. I don't know where it will go in the long run, but I would like to have some flexibility and not need a new bike if we decide to expand our riding spots. We'll probably just stick to the roads and sidewalks at first but who knows where it could go.
Unfortunately we are on a tight budget, and will be for the foreseeable future. I would like to spend $200-250 for two mountain bikes, used of course, but am having trouble deciding which brands are the most bang for the buck. I know the proper size is very important, so that will be the biggest consideration, but any insight is greatly appreciated on the following used men's bikes:
Bridgestone BB-1 --> $85
Diamondback Outlook --> $80
Haro Omega --> $135
Jamis Diablo --> $100
Trek 820 --> $100
Giant Boulder SE --> $130
I'm still looking for women's bikes, so any advice for them would be great too. When I have found a few that seem decent and are in my price range, I'll post them as well.
Thank you!
