I've just seen the route, graphs and the write up. Looks like and overall better route in terms of breaks between the climbs, but I think we will still suffer.

I started with power training on the weekend already. Lets hope I'll be strong enough to conquer this new route.

The new route kicks up constantly over the last 30 k's or so, much like the Argus. It will be tough to maintain a good average speed in those last few kilometers.

17 weeks to go ladies and gentlemen. That gives you
6 weeks base training
6 weeks speed / power etc
5 weeks peak conditioning.

Get it together now and you'll be smiling.

By the way, Cansa Lost City Entries close today.

Yeh the new route is harder and that section on the highway has a constant hold on you overall i think the new route will be better racing for the elite.and more of a challenge to the rest of us, i would say probably add an extra 15 to 20 minutes to your previous times, that is if your at the same fitness and conditions are the same.
;) ;) :p
