First post!!
big-smile.png

I started cycling last week and the last time I cycled was 14+ years ago.

I have a claud butler lavanta hybrid and weight limit is 120kg..

Today I went over a rocky path and a few minutes later noticed a rubbing noise.. to discover the back wheel is fairly buckled (rubbing off the arch)...

So do i replace it with the same type? can I upgrade?

was it to do with my weight or just unfortunate or a bit of both?

cheers for any help!!

What size tires are you using? Rocks can play hell with your wheel if you are using thin tires. I am also guessing your Claud Butler is rather new. If so, check with the dealer and see if they can't put things to rights for you. Sometimes wheels aren't properly tensioned, coming from the factory. This may be so in your case. I think your situation may be a combination of rocky path, unfortunate, and then maybe weight, but I think the first two, and maybe poor or uneven tensioning of spokes may have more to do with it, going on what is said in your post.
