Finally traded in my aging 17 year old muddy fox "courier" for a nice new Marin "bear valley alp"
hybrid, and the difference is amazing to say the least!
I've never really considered the "hybrid" type of bike before, but as I hardly ever took my
faithfull muddy fox off road (i'd put slicks on it) I thought that this type of hybrid bike would be
a lot more comfortable to ride than a traditional "racer" (which I tried briefly about 15 years ago
but never got on with so sold it on). It certainly has the "feel" of a racer (with the 23c stradius
pros which I put on instead of the wider tyres that came with the bike), but with a much more
comfortable riding position.
