Anyone else noticed the deeeeeep wheels that Armstrong has on his new Road rig for the TdF? www.cyclingnews.com

These have Bontrager labels and spoke pattern but look a lot like Zipps. There is also a HED label on each rim.

Any more completely unfounded and useless nerdy tech gossip about these new hoops???

These wheels are very light Bontrager alu wheels, where HED has bounded a structural carbon fairing = Hed Alps but based on a Bontrager wheel.

This explains the wheels a little more: http://www.roadcyclinguk.com/news/article/mps/UAN/674/v/1/sp/ They are all carbon.

I was at HED's facility about 3 months ago when I took a wheel in for them to look at. I saw a number of bontrager deep wheels on their shelves that looked a lot like the new helius wheel. I asked them about those wheels, and they said they were working with trek to produce some special wheels to help Lance win again....
