Well, that's certainly informative. You could have strained yourself with an explanation at the very least.
The majority of threads quickly become arguments of a rather juvenile nature. It appears to involve the same character(s) every time.
You are totally right on that point. But I don't know you and you don't know me and it is easy to have misunderstandings. Simply having good intentions doesn't stop these sorts of things from starting, insults being hurled and arguments amplifying.
But there are also plenty of really good and interesting conversations as well - Super Beanz has had a string going on forever of Did You Ride Today with nary an argument. Usually if someone isn't attacked they don't respond in kind. The two members that were most responsible for starting these things seem to have moved on to elsewhere. Which is a shame because they both had things to add. Unfortunately they wanted to be the center of attention.
Is that the same forum member who started a thread about how he tried to beat up another cyclist for calling him chubby?

Civil behavior seems to be the exception, not the rule, for several prominent members of this forum.
How far back into the past discussions did you have to go to find that? And seeing that why didn't you simply change to another discussion?
I just randomly clicked on a couple dozen threads on my first visit, and it happened to be one of them. I had to go back a few pages to find it, because the majority of the threads on the first two pages were all started by the same person and quickly became dumpster fires.
I'm new, but been reading this forum for a long time, all I got to say about all the arguing, and mostly insane nonsensical comments, all that stuff starts and keeps going on and on and on from one person who is active on this forum, and that person is Cyclintom. All you have to do is search for Cyclintom posts and start reading. There were members here who left due to Cyclintom and the forum moderators who refuse to take action. So if you're new here, from what I can tell from lurking for several years, and you like to argue without getting banned, you've come to the right place, so join in and have fun with the sad old clown, I just don't think clowns are funny so I don't waste my time.
The above guy is why I don't like to post here because I don't want to have to correct his nonsense only to get into an argument about stupid stuff. I did correct one thing cyclintom said, now this is my 8th or 9th post here. Not sure why I even lurked as long as I have with all the nonsense he brings to the table, sometimes I read his stuff because I need some comedy relief, other times I just skip over his drivel and read the guys who post here who know what they're talking about. Anyway back to lurking. By the way, I know cyclintom will respond to my post, that's fine, count me out, I'm not going to get into it and prove myself to be just as argumentative and as stupid as he is, so have fun cyclintom entertaining yourself.

I don't believe he will and as far as mods I am pretty much the only one that is active but appropriate action has been taken.
A lot of personal issues like my wife's chemo treatments have had me somewhat distracted for many months but I am not one to air out my personal struggles.
Except for some spam in the mornings the forum is pretty clean and stable now.

I'm sorry to hear about your wife, my wife too had to go through chemo and radiation for a very aggressive form of breast cancer that gave her an estimated 20% chance of survival, she survived and is now 17 or 18 years out minus a breast and lymph nodes but she's alive. So I'm praying your wife too will survive this.
Thank you. She was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer , however they caught it at a very early stage which entails an 80% survival rate. Stage 1 but the chemo is still hell but it is over now. She just needs to shake off the effect of it over the next few months. Glad to hear wife is a survivor. My nephew is stage 4 with the Lance Armstrong type cancer but it is treatable. When it rains sometimes it pours a ****-storm.
That's good to hear your wife is doing a lot better. I emphasize with people that have that sort of **** going on, it's bad no matter what the percentages are, and sometimes the treatment is the worse part. My wife was put on the harshest chemo on the market plus radiation, she almost died twice just from the chemo because her immune system was near zero, so when she would get a cold, geez I had to get her to the hospital, and two of the times it was touch and go for a day. The real blessing in all of that was the first specialists from Kaiser said the cancer wasn't in the nymph nodes and they caught it early and was only going to treat it with mild chem and maybe radiation afterwards, I had a strange feeling something wasn't right, so I paid for her to go to UCLA Revlon Breast institute because Kaiser wouldn't pay for it, and it was there they discovered it was far much worse, and if we followed Kaiser treatment plan she would die without question! So I always tell people to get a second opinion from another expert in the field specializing in that particular type of cancer.
I was hopeful that the news about scientists in Israel had found the cure for cancer was true, but later it turned out to be fake news. Damn it! Can't trust the news for nothing anymore.

News is only opinion anymore. You are better off to open and window and see what is happening. The one other issue with my wife is that she already had a low white count and low immunity. The Neulasta helped but there again the side effects are bad. Our second opinion came from Massachusetts General so we feel pretty good about it.
