A local bikeshop has a 2002 model bike with 105 cranks and Ultegra rear derailleur, shimano wheels (535?) etc for $1000 off. Has much changed in 3 or 4 years? Is 2005 model gear much better than 2002. I'm tempted to buy but worried the standard is not the same as today's bikes. One thing that's odd is its got cantilever brakes which I haven't seen for a while. Any advice greatly appreciated,

New stuff is 10 speed and cantis don't spell road bike if that is what you are looking for.
