New task force in Houston

I was minding my own buisness at the art car parade when
approached by a policeman on a bicycle. He never saw a Coker
before and wanted to try
it. He said he has an old Schwin and can ride it. After two
or three tries, he rides away, and ends up answering his
cell while passing the cruiser.

He said he'd check into getting one.

I was a cyclist 'escort' (one who pushes the broken down
art cars off the street and keeps the crowds off the
street) and had to keep telling the spectators that I was
not "in" the parade.

That's a really cool picture. Perhaps Coker ought to market their wares
to the Police... as big rubber donuts! :)

But seriously, that's one cool cop!

I like it! They say one of the good things about cops on
bikes is that it makes them more "approachable". Imagine the
effect of a cop on a coker. Could be great public
realations.

I bet you made his day!

That is pretty cool. While at a Hike & Bike event last weekend, one of
the local mountain bike police officers tried to ride my Coker, but
decided to let it rest after only one attempt. He said he didn't want to
embarass himself in front of his fellow officers :)

Good photos and a great story, Jer. Did you get him to ride
a handrail and do the drop at the end? Just because Kris
Holm can do it doesn't mean it's possible.

My Dad was saying the milatary should start riding unicycles
when we were watching a tv show that said they are starting
to use bikes. He said it would be good that you can use both
your hands to hold and use your wepon. When I saw this I
called him over and reminded him of what he said the I told
him here's a start.
