Hello Sorry if this is a request for old info. I'm heading into the winter season and am looking for the best/simplest way to put together some sort of winter training program. I need some guidance in a few areas: 1) Trainer? start with a cheapo or go for a more mid level unit like a Kinetics road machine ( I would like to use TrainerRoad) 2) Am I correct in thinking I would be best served by doing a FTP and working a plan from there? Goals: Increase cycling performance on Mountain and Road bikes 44 years old, decent shaped (completed some mountain endurance events, have background having completed some 100 mile MTB races) 3) Plan on using a strength/weight program through the winter also (probably Simon Kidd's program from Breakingmuscle.com) So what do I really need: Trainer and an HRM, and subscription to Trainerroad power meter is probably not affordable right now.... hope this makes some sense, appreciate any feedback
