Valverde is too high on the list. He cannot time trial well enough for this year's course. I would also place a fifty-fifty chance on him getting expelled before the race finishes.

Landis and Levi could easily be swapped, and Evans could easily split the two.

I think Landis will out timetrial everyone else in the GC and the climbing could be who has two good days in the Alps.
I think without Lance and Basso this is gonna be fought out and look much like the old days with guys going in and out of the jersey or cutting it down to dropping one day and getting dropped the next.
Whoever is strongest in the last week will wind up with it, so teams will matter in that way.

In the back of my mind I keep hearing Bruyneel saying the Tour route is good for Savoldelli but we are riding the defence of the Giro.

If he recovered from allergies, and bounces back, this tour could go really well for him.

Last time I looked, José Acevedo was a relief pitcher for the Colorado Rockies baseball team. Probably has a good arm for knocking folks around in the sprints, but at 221 lbs. they'll toast him on the climbs!
