I recently decided to upgrade from my old Trek 700 to a new Trek 7.2 FX. I had bought a new rack for the 700 recently and tried to put it on my new FX last night. Alas, the bolts on the FX are at an angle compared to the 700.
My questions are: does the new Trek line require different racks or do I bend the rack's arms to make it fit. The new bolts appear to be more forward and angle towards the pedals just a bit. Thanks in advance.
You are a little too much like me. If it won't fit, I'll make it fit. For this application though, I would consult with the LBS that sold you the bike. They might be able to hook you up with something, or they may tell you to start bending.
