Campy's new wheel is a 35mm Bora (so it's CF and tubular) with a brake track ground to remove the resin from the surface, something that Enve and Xentis use and something that results in much better braking. No word on wheel width, but it'd be nice if Campy moved to wider rims with a more updated aero cross section. Still, a set of 35mm deep wheels that weighs in at 1230g is tasty, especially if that wheel set is as hardy as Campy wheels typically are. It's interesting that they chose to release these in the Campagnolo Gran Fondo New York and not in some more high profile Euro location or event. http://www.bikeradar.com/news/article/campagnolo-launches-bora-ultra-35-tubulars-37382/

UCI and Tour de France organizers (among others) showed interest in promoting the sport outside Europe since the 80's at least, i think they have succeeded,

Hopefully growth of cycling will continue in the US, but there are more than a few folks who seem set on handicapping that growth
