I'm after a bit of advice about a windstopper jacket, I'm new to more serious cycling and of late have been getting cold so I'm after a windstopper jacket. After trying a number of products on I find the Gore Bike Wear stuff to fit me quite well and after reading a couple of review they seem to do the job.
Can anyone recommend me one of the following, or give me any reason to steer clear of a particular item, they all appear to do what I want I was just wondering if one would be better than another:
Gore Phantom Windstopper
Gore Countdown Windstopper
Gore Contest Windstopper
Gore Power Windstopper
Other recommendations are also welcome, I have a budget of around £90-£100 and from various websites all the above are achieveable at this price
I don't know about those particular items. Your local conditions will play a big part in what you need. I got a windstopper jacket when it was getting cool and it worked fine until it got colder. I then got a long sleeved medium weight base layer and it is working fine. It's about 45F here and not terribly windy.
In general I would recommend going a bit warmer than you think you need as you can unzip a bit and cool off. Adding layers when you are cold is difficult. I have amassed quite a wardrobe adding layers and it cost more than it needed to.

I bought the Phantom this fall and I have been riding comfortably in 45 degree weather (with a short sleeve merino baselayer). With some more layering, I should be able to ride even colder. I'm happy with it.
