Newbie Training Help



I am thinking about joining a local charity bike tour and would like to know any suggestions about training schedules/routines in order to help me get ready for the lengthy ride.

I have in the past just biked for pleasure and exercise, so I am unaware of the ways to develop for a distance tour.

I am pretty much open to trying anything. I don't consider myself to be in great shape at all so I'll have to build up to it. The tour is in 2 months and I'd like to do my best. I would appreciate any input or re-direction to good sites.

Charity rides are great ways to get into regular cycling. If you are out of shape why not make the ride the first step towards a new healthy lifestyle.
