Hi there, I've acquired a shimano nexus 8 speed hub and using sheldons
excellent guide managed to put it back together with no bits left over
🙂 Havent installed it yet but it feels reasonably smooth.
Two questions however....
1. The Bearings are beginning to corrode quite badly (the ones on page
http://www.sheldonbrown.com/nexus8/pages/21.htm). Are these standard
parts or shimano specific?
2. The pawls mentioned in
http://www.sheldonbrown.com/nexus8/pages/23.htm , it says to check they
are in the proper position. A couple had to be reinserted by myself and
although secure I'm not sure they are in correctly. Unfortunately the
picture isn't entirely clear on how they are aligned.
