I have a cross bike with inline brake levers. I'm looking for a solution for
mounting a NiteRider headlight. The normal bar mounting location near the
stem is not available because of the location of the brake cables feeding
out of the Tektro levers. Any creative stem mount solutions?

I've been looking for something similiar. From the pictures, the Minoura
Space Grip thing looks slightly goofy.

What would really be nice is if one could get the NiteRider mounted on the
top of the stem (unless your cyclometer is already mounted in that
location.).

I did a quick search on the Niterider site www.niterider.com and found that
they DO make a stem mount!!! Goto New Products: 1st item UNIVERSAL
HANDLEBAR MOUNT.

Nice pictures of how it attaches to the stem. I especially like the option
to drop the light below the stem! I'm getting one of these.

You can play with different configurations using the Universal mount. If
your headtube is slender, you can use this mount to put your light out in
front of the headtube.

I have made mounts from metal pipe hanger straps. A small roll or the
stuff in a hardwate store is cheap. Use som old tubes for wrapping
arount stem to isolate from vibration.
