Last week I had my hatchback car worked on, and put my old commuter Fuji in the back to take rides and pass time while it was in the shop. When I returned home, rather than taking my stuff out of the car I left it overnight, and didn't get to it until about 2:00 P.M. the next day. To my surprise my helmet which was foam side up in the sun, had begun to separate from the outer shell, and some of the foam cells we beginning to collapse. This in the early Spring Arizona sun. What might happen in mid Summer?

I'd suggest that in hot months that you get your stuff out of the heat and sun as soon as you can, especially if it's in an enclosed car or S.U.V.. In my case it was damage to a $20 helmet. What might happen to the clear coat on your Colnago, the grease in your hubs and bottom bracket, those 135PSI $60 tires? Better to be sure than sorry!
