We don't eat cars, so why the connection between our vehicles and the width of our thighs? According
to Davidson, the impulse that drives us to buy larger vehicles often comes from the same
subconscious regions of the brain that are responsible for the impulses that drive us to overeat.
The effects vary by individual, but the trend overall is clarvoyant. The subconscious mind, once
sold on the idea that bigger things are better, will often override our best intentions. We, in
turn, find ourselves along for the ride, and as the things around us grow bigger, so do we.
