Nothing as good as sitting out the front of a cafe, until a smoker decides they would like to do the same and sit 10cm from you and light up.

Seems you need to get a good bunch position at a cafe (taking into account wind direction and how close you want to sit to the person next to you).

Are there any non-smoking cafes in Melbourne?

Do any smokers bother asking the person 10cm away if they mind if they smoke?

    FFS give them a break!

They can't smoke indoors so they get shunted onto the street. 8 months of the year, they stand out there, shivvering in the cold of winter so they can smoke and then when the weather gets better, people complain about them smoking outdoors.

I reckon the best place for people who don't like having to deal with the general public to have a coffee is in their own backyard!

BS. I'm with Luke. To hell with all smokers. The sooner there is either a complete ban or they all get cancer and die the better

I totally respect the right of someone to smoke. I also reserve the right not to smoke. How dare some person blow carcenagenic poison all over me because they feel they feel like a smoke.

I might get out granddads old spray gear and strart spraying my weeds with DDT because I feel like it. Wonder what the neighbours would say hmm..

This is a ridiculous notion, that smokers feel discriminated against.

I dont fart in peoples faces because it is unpleasant and they would probabley smack my head in. Why is it ok to blow smoke over someone?

No I have been smoking for years now, I just never hold the cigarette or get a choice on the brand. I find passive smoking a cheaper alternative then buying the cigarettes myself. :)

then dont complain... simple, you have two options...
A: your hanging around the wrong people
    or the most obvious
    B: move away !

you are outdoors after all, i can understand if someone lites up indoors.

there is no law prohibiting ANYONE from liting up outdoors ;)

What is this crap about the LAW. Screw the law. Use your brain and your concience and realise that if your actions cause cancer, dont do it around others. Do it in your home.
Let me ask a couple of questions. Do you shit in public?. No, You do it in private.
Do you screw in public? No, you do it in private. There are many things in this world that may be legal, but they have a time and a place.

If you are saying that a non smoker must sit inside a cafe to avoid being exposed to the poison outside, you have to seriously get your head checked. You sir are an arrogant so and so.

If you are a nicotine addict go get help. Dont expose me to your stinking rotten habbit. I want to sit outside, inside or where ever I want to without being covered in this second hand smoke.

In summary, GO AND KILL YOURSELF IN PRIVATE....
